DAAD Prize 2025

The DAAD Prize

Every year, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides the universities with funds for the award of an international student or doctoral student. It is intended to honour outstanding academic achievements and remarkable social or intercultural commitment. The prize is endowed with a total of 1,000 EUR and awarded to one person only.

Application Requirements

Applicants should be at least in the 2nd academic year of an undergraduate degree programme or at least in the 2nd semester of a graduate degree programme or be a doctoral candidate.

Only international students who are enrolled in a regular course of study at Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg can apply (no guest students). Applicants must have acquired their university entrance qualification at a school abroad (this includes German schools abroad) or have supplemented school qualifications acquired abroad with a German Studienkolleg.

Applications for the DAAD Prize 2025 need to be submitted to the following address by January 7, 2025:

Please hand in the following documents:

  • Convincing cover letter
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Current academic transcript of records indicating the applicant’s grade point average
  • Letter of reference from a university teacher (with assessment of academic performance   and social/intercultural commitment)
  • If applicable, proof of social/intercultural commitment.

Selection and Award Ceremony

The prize winner will be selected by the University Awards Committee of Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg.
