New Graduate School: ANARCHIE
A new graduate school will be launched on 15 October: the International Max Planck Research School for the Anthropology, Archaeology and History of Eurasia (IMPRS ANARCHIE), a cooperation between the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology and the Martin Luther University.
To mark the occasion, a special lecture „Patterns of Long-Term Change in the European Neolithic“ will be delivered by Stephen Shennan, University College London.
Date: Monday, 15 October 2012
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Venue: Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Advokatenweg 36, Halle (Saale)
Over the next six years three cohorts of international PhD students will investigate diachronic processes in society and culture in various locations on the landmass of Eurasia. ANARCHIE members will pursue comparative interdisciplinary approaches to common fields of interest such as collective identifications, religion and ritual, and economic and demographic drivers. The general aim is the cross-fertilisation of anthropological, archaeological and historical theories and methods.
